Established in October 1991, HASETRI is recognized as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (SIRO) by the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR), Government of India. 

The institute is also acknowledged by premier institutions like the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and other universities as a recognized centre for research leading to higher studies.

HASETRI has earned global recognition in quality testing and calibration. It is accredited under ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards in the fields of Testing (Mechanical & Chemical) and Calibration (Mechanical & Thermal) by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India.

Additionally, HASETRI is accredited as a Proficiency Testing Provider under ISO 17043:2010 by NABL.

The Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA), UK, has also approved HASETRI for testing under Annex 6 for measuring rolling resistance as per UNECE R117 for C1, C2, and C3 category tyres.

Furthermore, HASETRI holds the distinction of being the first Training Provider of the Rubber Skill Development Council (RSDC), India.
