The Hari Shankar Singhania Elastomer & Tyre Research Institute (HASETRI) is India’s first and foremost research centre in the field of tyres and elastomers. Named after the renowned industrialist Late Shri Hari Shankar Singhania, the institute was established to meet the nation’s need for developing advanced technologies in elastomer and tyre research. Its primary goal is to drive the development and evaluation of new technologies for the rubber and allied industries, both in domestic and international markets, while also nurturing skilled technical manpower for the industry.

HASETRI was conceptualized by the Late Shri Hari Shankar Singhania, former President of the JK Organisation, a visionary leader and the driving force behind several pioneering ventures. Guided by his vision, India’s first independent elastomer and tyre research institute was established in 1991 at Kankroli, Rajasthan, and named in his honor.

Today, HASETRI stands among Asia’s leading research institutes in the field of rubber and tyre technology.

Late Mr. Hari Shankar Singhania

Past President, JK Organisation

Established in October 1991 at Jaykaygram, Kankroli, Rajasthan, HASETRI was created as an independent research institute to achieve self-sufficiency in technology development for the Rubber and Allied Industry in India. Since January 2017, all research activities have been consolidated at the Raghupati Singhania Centre of Excellence in Mysore, Karnataka.

In today’s fast-changing world, HASETRI takes a proactive approach to anticipate industry and societal needs, addressing challenges from the client’s perspective. With a strong and dedicated team, we continue to work on projects covering raw materials, product development, testing, evaluation, and the creation of new standards for the rubber industry.

For over 30 years, HASETRI has supported the Indian tyre industry in radialisation, empowered the non-tyre sector towards self-sufficiency, and partnered with government bodies for indigenous technology development, knowledge upgradation, and skill building.

We believe the best way to continue meeting customer expectations is by following a clear path of technical development and striving for continual improvement.
